TIKZN Tender: Catering Services for Heritage Day Celebration

Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) invites suitably qualified catering service providers to submit quotations for the provision of catering services for the TIKZN Heritage Day Celebration on 23 September 2026.

TIKZN Seeks Catering Provider for Heritage Day

TIKZN is a South African trade and inward investment promotion agency established as a Schedule 3C public entity. The agency promotes KwaZulu-Natal as an investment destination and facilitates trade by assisting local companies to access international markets. Heritage Day is a key national occasion honouring South Africa’s rich culture, history and vibrant diversity.

Scope of Work and Menu Requirements

The successful service provider will deliver catering for 65 guests including all set-up, catering and breakdown. The lunch menu includes:

  • Braai lunch with lamb, wors and chicken
  • Pap and rolls
  • Three salads
  • Beverages including water and assorted soft drinks
  • Dessert including chocolate brownies and cheesecake

The service provider must bring serviettes, cooler boxes with ice, cutlery, crockery, four tablecloths, glasses and toothpicks. Delivery will be at Trade & Investment House, 1 Arundel Close, Kingsmead Office Park, Durban, 4001, with serving at 14:00.

Mandatory Requirements for Bidders

Bidders must submit the following documents:

  • Proof of registration on Central Supplier Database (CSD) or SARS PIN
  • Completed and signed SBD 4 Declaration of Interest
  • Completed and signed SBD 1 Invitation to Bid
  • Completed and signed POPIA consent form
  • Completed and signed SBD 6.1 Preference Points Claim Form
  • Quotation on company letterhead

Price and Preference Point Evaluation

The 80/20 preference point system will apply, with 80 points allocated for price and 20 points for specific goals. Preference points will be awarded for:

  • 100% Black-owned enterprises (5 points)
  • Enterprises located in eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality (15 points)

Key Submission Requirements

Bidders must note:

  • Partial quotations or quotations that exclude any required item may be regarded as non-responsive
  • Quoting on fewer items or quantities than requested will invalidate the quotation
  • The quotation must remain open for acceptance for 90 days from the closing date
  • All prices must be inclusive of VAT

How to Submit Your Quotation

Submit your completed quotation via email to quotations@tikzn.co.za before 18 September 2026 at 12:00. Please write the RFQ number on the email subject line. Late and incomplete submissions will invalidate the quotation.
