South Cape TVET College invites qualified and registered contractors to submit quotations for hostel maintenance work at its Oudtshoorn Campus. This strategic Request for Quotation (RFQ AB 24/2026) aims to ensure the safety, functionality, and comfort of student accommodation facilities in the Western Cape.
Scope of Work
The successful contractor will be responsible for:
- Replacing and re-nailing the IBR roof structure
- Washing the roof with sugar soap to remove rust and dirt
- Applying primer and two coats of galvanised silver hydroseal HF or an approved waterproofing system
- Sealing cracks and defective joints
- Compliance with all applicable Health and Safety regulations
All work must comply with SANS 10400 standards. The contract must be completed over three working days during weekdays between 7:30 and 16:00.
Mandatory Requirements for Bidders
Bidders must submit the following mandatory documents:
- Copy of valid Tax PIN certificate
- Latest Municipal Account or Lease Agreement
- Copy of CIPRO company registration documents
- Copies of all share certificates
- Shareholding breakdown per race, gender and percentage
- Declaration of Interest (SBD 4)
- B-BBEE rating certificate or sworn affidavit
- Copy of COIDA certificate for Building Construction (Class V)
- Proof of CIDB grading of 1SN or higher
- Two completion letters for same or similar work done previously
- Completed Price Schedule with detailed breakdown
CIDB and Compliance Requirements
Only bidders with a CIDB grading of 1SN will be considered. The service provider must be registered with the Department of Labour for Compensation of Injury on Duty and possess a letter of good standing showing the class of building works.
Compulsory Briefing Session
A mandatory site briefing will be held to allow prospective bidders to assess the scope of work firsthand. Attendance is strictly compulsory; failure to attend and sign the register will result in automatic disqualification.
