The Council for Mineral Technology (MINTEK) invites qualified security service providers to submit proposals for the appointment of a personal protection and tactical security service provider. This strategic 36-month contract is critical for supporting the high-risk Design and Construction: Sealing of Derelict Mine Shafts and Holings projects, managed on behalf of the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR).
Scope of Services
The successful bidder will provide a highly trained team proficient in transportation, intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, surveillance, proactive disruption and counterattack roles. Key responsibilities include:
- Protection of Mintek personnel during site visits to mine sites
- Interception and questioning of suspicious individuals or vehicles
- Pre-site visit analysis 48 hours prior to all site visits
- Maintaining a safe perimeter during site visits
- Recording and reporting all security activities daily

Mandatory PSIRA and Compliance Documents
Bidders must submit the following mandatory documents:
- Valid letter of good standing with a compensation fund for occupational injuries and diseases
- Valid PSIRA Letter of Good Standing
- Valid company PSIRA registration certificate as a Security Service Provider
- Valid PSIRA registration certificates for all owners and directors
- 2 x Security Supervisors with PSIRA Grade A
- 8 x Tactical Armed Security Officers with PSIRA Grade B
- Proof of ownership or lease agreements for 4 x 4×4 double cab vehicles and 1 armoured vehicle (minimum B4)
- DFO registry records showing 12 shotguns, 30 semi-auto rifles and 20 semi-auto handguns
