The Western Cape Department of Agriculture invites qualified service providers to submit bids for the supply, delivery, and off-loading of perishable and non-perishable food products. This strategic procurement initiative aims to ensure a reliable, high-quality food supply for the Elsenburg Hostel, supporting the department’s operational and educational mandates.

Scope of Supply

The successful bidder will be appointed for an initial period of two years, with an option to extend the contract for a further one year. The comprehensive scope covers the delivery of essential provisions, including:

  • Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
  • Meat and Poultry Products
  • Dairy Products
  • Bread and Bakery Products
  • Frozen Foods
  • Non-Perishable Groceries

Mandatory Requirements

To be considered responsive, bidders must meet strict localization and experience criteria. Mandatory submissions include:

  • At least two contactable references from current or previous clients for contracts of a similar nature, scope, and value.
  • Verifiable proof of address for physical or operational offices situated within a 100 km radius of Elsenburg (Stellenbosch).

  • Proof of physical/operational address within a 100 km radius of Elsenburg (Stellenbosch)
  • Proof of authority to sign the bid documentation

Submission Guidelines

Bidders must ensure their proposals reach the Department well in advance of the closing time. The designated bid box is located at the Security Gate, Muldersvlei Road, Elsenburg, and is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Department maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for late submissions, which will not be considered under any circumstances.
