Non-Compulsory Briefing Session

A non-compulsory briefing and site inspection session will be held on 14 August 2026 at 12:00 at the Information Desk, Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport . Bidders must bring ID, safety boots, and a reflector vest. While non-compulsory, attendance is recommended to understand the site and project requirements.

Scope of Work

The project involves comprehensive roof refurbishment at the terminal building, including waterproofing, repairs to concrete roofs, and related alterations. The scope covers:

  • Building roof refurbishment
  • Roof waterproofing and sealing
  • Construction and repair of concrete roofs
  • Roof extension and alterations works
  • Construction of new buildings with concrete roofs (where applicable)

Eligibility and Functionality Evaluation

Tenders are restricted to contractors with a CIDB contractor grading of 3GB or higher . Bidders must achieve a minimum of 70 out of 100 points in the functionality evaluation to proceed to price and preference evaluation .

Company Experience (40 points): Bidders must submit reference letters or completion certificates for similar projects completed within the past 10 years . Five or more completed projects score maximum points.

Project Principal (30 points): A detailed CV and qualification certificates (minimum NQF level 7, Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering) are required. Five or more years of experience post-qualification scores maximum points.

Project Supervisor (30 points): A detailed CV and qualification certificates (minimum NQF level 6, Building or Civil Engineering) are required. Five or more years of experience post-qualification scores maximum points .

Price and Preference Points

Bids will be evaluated using the 80/20 preference point system. Preference points are awarded for B-BBEE status level, with Level 1 scoring the maximum 5 points. Bidders must submit original or certified copies of valid sworn affidavits or B-BBEE certificates from SANAS-accredited agencies. Joint ventures must provide consolidated B-BBEE certificates.

Submission Details

Completed bids must be deposited in the tender box at the Administrator Office, Aeropark Office Complex, Block A, 1st Floor, Allister Miller Drive, Walmer, Gqeberha, by 13:00 on 28 August 2026. Bids must remain valid for 12 weeks (84 days). Late, telephonic, or faxed tenders will not be accepted . Bidders must complete the Bid Register when depositing documents.
