The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) has issued an open tender (BID NO: 012–2026/2027) for the appointment of a service provider to render electrical repairs and maintenance services. This strategic 36-month contract targets qualified electrical contractors to ensure the safe and efficient operation of CETA’s Head Office in Midrand.
Scope of Works and Operational Support
The mandate requires preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, and emergency call-out services on an “as and when” required basis. The scope covers distribution boards, earth leakages, lighting circuits, geysers, and various electrical appliances. All materials and consumables used must be SABS approved and strictly compliant with the OHS Act and SANS standards.
Mandatory Compliance and Functionality Criteria
Bidders must submit the following documents; failure will lead to immediate disqualification:
- Valid proof of registration with Department of Labour as electrical installers
- Valid letter of good standing with Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) 130 of 1993
- Valid proof of liability insurance of a minimum of R1 Million
- Valid CIDB registration, 3 EB or higher
- Proof of CSD Registration (tax compliance verified on award)
- Copy of signed lease agreement or proof of ownership for bidder’s offices (due diligence verification)
- Completed and signed SBD forms (SBD 1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1, SBD 7.2, and GCC)
- BBBEE Certificate or Sworn Affidavit
- Three reference letters on official client letterheads (not older than 5 years)
- Letter from the bank confirming banking details (not older than 3 months)
Critical Success Factors
- Availability of qualified artisans and necessary tools/equipment within agreed response times
- Reliable supply of quality materials (SABS approved)
- Accurate and timeous submission of service reports and invoices
- Zero tolerance for recurring defects or poor workmanship
- Service provider submitting job cards for each work done with relevant work warranties and material guarantees

Strict Physical Submission Protocols
Bids must be hand-delivered to the CETA Head Office. Crucially, bidders or their couriers must physically sign the tender register at the reception. Submissions not registered on the tender register will be strictly disqualified.
