Siyathemba Local Municipality has issued Request for Quotation SLM RFQ 37/2026 for the refurbishment of the ANC Constituency Office in Prieska, Northern Cape. This targeted infrastructure upgrade aims to revitalize the political office, ensuring a functional and professional environment for community engagement and administrative duties.
Scope of Works
The successful contractor must deliver comprehensive refurbishment services including:
- Demolition and Removal: Remove damaged components, existing ceiling boards, branding, and unwanted fixtures
- Door Replacement: Install new heavy-duty entrance doors with security ironmongery
- Roof Repairs: Inspect, repair leaks, and apply waterproofing treatment
- Internal Construction: Build new office walls and create functional spaces
- New Ablution Facility: Construct complete bathroom facilities with plumbing and sanitary installations
- Industrial Carpeting: Install commercial-grade flooring throughout
- Painting and Finishes: Professional surface preparation and application
- Electrical Works: Install lighting, replace defective components, and test all installations
Material Procurement and Contractor Roles
To streamline the process, the municipality will directly procure and supply the building materials based on the successful bidder’s approved material quotation. The contractor’s primary responsibility is to manage the physical execution, site supervision, and specialized labour required to deliver a high-quality finish.
Compulsory Site Inspection
A mandatory site inspection is required to verify conditions, quantify works, and clarify material requirements. Failure to attend will result in the quotation being deemed non-responsive and immediately disqualified.
