The Limpopo Provincial Government, through the Office of the Premier, has launched its annual call for funding proposals under the Sustainable Livelihood Fund for the 2026/27 financial year. This initiative invites eligible youth, women, and persons with disabilities to submit project proposals in key sectors, with funding ranging from R500,000 to R3 million.
Funding Focus Areas and Objectives
The fund aims to support projects in Agriculture and Agro-processing, Infrastructure repairs, development and rural access, Tourism and Creative Industries, Environment and green economy, and Digital Industries. A critical condition for funding is that all projects must demonstrate a clear potential to create jobs.
Who Qualifies for Funding?
Funding is specifically targeted at residents of the Limpopo Province. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 40 years. The programme prioritises youth, women, and persons with disabilities, in line with the provincial government’s commitment to inclusive economic development.
Application Process and Submission Dates
Proposals must be submitted by 03 July 2026 at 11:00. Applications can be hand-delivered to the Tender Box at 40 Hans Van Rensburg, Office of the Premier, Polokwane. For applicants unable to travel to Polokwane, officials will be available at District Municipal Offices on the following dates: 01 July 2026 at Vhembe and Sekhukhune Districts (08:00 – 15:00), and 02 July 2026 at Waterberg and Mopani Districts (08:00 – 15:00).
Funding Amounts and Project Criteria
The minimum funding available per project is R500,000, with a maximum of R3,000,000. Only projects that will create jobs will be funded, making job creation a central evaluation criterion. Late applications will not be considered under any circumstances.
