The Eastern Cape Department of Social Development has issued an open tender (SCMU4-26/27-0005) for the appointment of a service provider to render comprehensive cleaning and hygienic services at the Silver Crown Old Age Home. This three-year contract ensures a safe, sanitary, and dignified environment for elderly residents in the Buffalo City Metropole.
Scope of Services and Facility Details
The appointed provider will manage the cleaning of a 1900-square-meter facility. The scope encompasses:
- Daily building cleaning and gross materials provision
- Servicing of sanitary pad bins and she-bins
- Installation and maintenance of hand soap dispensers
- Deployment of rodent stations and uniform provision
Mandatory Functionality and Compliance
Bidders must demonstrate a proven track record of at least one year’s experience in providing cleaning services. Furthermore, the service provider must strictly adhere to Sectoral Determination 1 regarding the payment of cleaners, ensuring fair labour practices and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Attendance at the pre-bid briefing is strictly mandatory. Failure to attend will result in disqualification.
