Heritage Building Expertise Required
The Durban Regional Office is a three-storey heritage building. The original roof design specification comprises copper roof sheeting. The storm exposed internal sections, making copper materials susceptible to theft and ongoing vandalism. The appointed architect must conduct an assessment and determine methodology for replacement in accordance with AMAFA Heritage Council prescripts.
Two-Phase Scope of Work:
- Phase 1 (Assessment): Comprehensive inspection of copper roof covering and timber roof structure; prepare technical assessment report with recommended remedial action, specifications, itemised bills of quantities, cost estimates, and project implementation methodology; assist in obtaining statutory approvals.
- Phase 2 (Implementation Management): Manage implementation and sign-off compliance; manage appointed service provider for construction work (note: awarded architect will not be considered for construction implementation RFQ).

- Valid SACAP membership certificate (valid on bid closing date)

- Heritage Council approval proof (preferably AMAFA)

- Completed and signed SBD1, SBD4
- Completed Annexure BC (compliance confirmation on company letterhead)
- Completed Annexure BR (client reference on client letterhead)
- CSD registration (MAAA number)
- Completed Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
- Completed Certificate of Acquaintance with bid requirements
Compulsory Briefing Session Details
A mandatory briefing session will be held on Friday, 22 May 2026, at 11:00 at the Durban Regional Office located at 290 Dr Pixley Kaseme Street, Durban 4000. Attendance is compulsory for all bidders wishing to submit quotations.
Submission Requirements and Deadline
Quotations must be submitted by Wednesday, 03 June 2026, at 11:00. Late submissions will not be considered under any circumstances. Bidders must ensure all documentation is complete and submitted before the deadline.
