Stellenbosch Municipality Seeks PPE and Uniform Supplier

Stellenbosch Municipality invites qualified suppliers to submit bids for the supply and delivery of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms. This contract supports Traffic Law Enforcement, Fire Services, and Disaster Management teams. The agreement runs until 30 June 2029, offering a significant long-term opportunity for established suppliers in the Western Cape.

Scope of PPE and Uniform Items

The pricing schedule includes numerous items across four departments. Note: Bidders do not need to tender on all items – only on items they wish to supply. However, paired items (e.g., Items 3-5 and 43-47) must be quoted on and will be awarded to the same supplier.

Fire and Rescue PPE (Structural Firefighting):

  • Bunker suit (jacket and trousers) – lightweight, NFPA 1971 or EN 469 certified, Navy and Khaki, sizes XS to 5XL
  • Structural firefighting boots – CE 0197 EN 15090:2012, HI3 CI SRC, Category F2A, black with orange 3M reflective material
  • Structural firefighting gloves – DIN EN 659:2008, EN 388:2016, dark blue/navy, sizes 7/XS to 12/XXL
  • Structural firefighting hood – EN 531:1995, double layer, grey, one size fits all
  • Structural firefighting helmet – NFPA 1971:2013 compliant, low-profile European style, available in black, yellow, red, white, orange, blue
  • Helmet torch for Heros-Titan helmet
  • Wildfire fighting goggles – EN166:1995 and EN166:2001 compliant
  • Flashhoods – 2-ply, 29.1 cal/cm², meets NFPA 1971-2007
  • Servus firefighting boots or equivalent

Uniforms for Traffic, Law Enforcement, Fire, and Disaster Management:

  • Magnum short sleeve shirt with 2 pockets, embroidered badge, epaulettes, arm flashes
  • Navy blue rip stop short sleeve shirt with epaulettes, arm flashes, rubberized fire badge, two breast pockets
  • Combat rip stop pants with two side pockets, double material on knees, elastic inserts on waist
  • Rip stop long sleeve shirt with epaulettes, arm flashes, rubberized fire badge, two breast pockets
  • Metal Fire/Traffic/Law Enforcement and Disaster Management badge
  • Step out tunic – black single breast, 4 pockets, 4 buttons, epaulettes, arm flashes
  • Combat pants – Air force blue, 55% Poly cotton
  • T-shirt with epaulettes – charcoal/navy/blue
  • Men’s statement classic pants – black, 100% Polyester

Eligibility and Submission Requirements

Bidders must comply with all municipal supply chain management policies. Proposals must be fully completed, signed, and inclusive of VAT where applicable. Suppliers should ensure their Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration is active and that all mandatory documentation, including BBBEE certificates, is attached to avoid disqualification.

Compulsory Briefing Session Details

Attendance at the pre-bid briefing is mandatory. Failure to attend will result in disqualification.
