The Eastern Cape Provincial Government Department of Agriculture invites qualified suppliers to submit bids for the supply and delivery of fencing material to the Tentergate Irrigation Scheme in the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality, Chris Hani District. This Request for Bid (SCMU8-26/27-0029) targets established agricultural infrastructure providers capable of delivering quality fencing solutions to support rural development and farming productivity.
Project Specifications and Deliverables
The contract encompasses supply and delivery of materials for approximately 18 000 metres of stock-proof fencing, 1.2 metres high with nine strands. Key deliverables include:
- Lightly galvanized wire netting (900 x 90 x 1.8mm, 50m rolls)
- Fencing posts, droppers, and associated hardware per Bill of Quantities
- Delivery to Tentergate Irrigation Scheme (60km from Komani), including off-loading and proper staging for verification
- Supply of essential fencing tools: wire stretchers, tension indicators, digging spades, fencing pliers, and auger bits
- Fencing training component for local labour as specified in tender documentation
Eligibility and Submission Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate:
- Valid registration on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Proven experience in agricultural fencing supply or rural infrastructure projects
- Compliance with the National Treasury General Conditions of Contract (July 2010)
- Completed SBD forms and all mandatory returnable schedules
- Proof of supply arrangements with manufacturers where applicable
Pricing and Contract Conditions
All prices must be firm, quoted in South African Rand, and inclusive of VAT, delivery, off-loading, and staging costs. Payment will be processed only after the Employer’s Representative verifies compliance with specifications at the delivery site. The contract is governed by standard GCC conditions with special conditions applicable to rural delivery logistics.
