Johannesburg Water Seeks Suppliers for Pipe Fittings and Clamps

Johannesburg Water has issued Request for Quotation 6000080270 for the supply and delivery of specified items to its Midrand facility. This procurement opportunity targets qualified suppliers capable of meeting technical specifications and delivering quality products within the required timeframe.

Comprehensive List of Required Items

The RFQ calls for a range of stainless steel clamps, saddles, and fittings, including:

  • Repair Clamps: T316 stainless steel repair clamps for 110mm PVC pipes (JASWIC approved) and for 125mm AC and 160mm PVC pipes (150mm-161mm OD range)
  • Saddle Clamps: Stainless steel saddle clamps in various configurations: 200mm x 20mm, 200mm x 50mm (UPVC and AC), 250mm x 20mm, 75mm x 25mm, and 300mm x 50mm
  • Pipe Collars: 110mm SG42 shouldered pipe collars for high-impact MPVC pipes
  • Steel Bends: 150mm x 90° medium-duty flanged steel bends, fusion-bonded epoxy coated with a minimum 250-micron film thickness
  • HDPE Elbows: 90° high-density polyethylene female threaded offtake elbows (25mm x 3/4″) PN16, SANS ISO 17885 approved

Key Submission Requirements

Bidders must note the following critical requirements:

  • Only firm prices will be accepted; non-firm prices or those subject to exchange rate variations will not be considered
  • All quotations must be submitted in PDF format only; MS Word, Excel, or image files will not be accepted
  • Manufacturer datasheets must be attached where required; submissions without brand names or technical specifications will be disqualified
  • Quotations must be submitted exclusively via the e-Tender portal; email submissions will not be considered

Pricing and Evaluation Criteria

Quotations will be evaluated using the 80/20 preference point system:

  • 80 points allocated for price competitiveness
  • 20 points allocated for specific goals, including SMME status and 51% or more black ownership for EME/QSE entities
  • Total quotation must be inclusive of all applicable taxes and delivery costs to 6th Road, Carlswald, Midrand, Johannesburg, 1684

Mandatory Documentation

To avoid disqualification, bidders must submit:

  • Valid Tax Compliance Status PIN or CSD registration proof
  • B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit for EME/QSE entities
  • Company registration documents and director ID copies
  • Proof of municipal account or valid lease agreement not older than three months
  • Completed SBD forms as specified in the tender document
