Panel Scope: Durban Region Plumbing Services Coverage

The successful panel of plumbing service providers will deliver maintenance, repair and emergency plumbing services across three districts: eThekwini, Ilembe and Ugu. Sites include regional offices, depots, road transport infrastructure facilities and government housing within the Durban region.

Core service requirements:

  • Priority/emergency repairs: Response within 2 hours maximum
  • Non-priority repairs: Response within 48 hours
  • All materials used must be SABS/SANS approved
  • Completion Certificate of Competency (COC) issued after every completed job
  • Workmanship guaranteed for 3 months from completion date

Mandatory Registration and Compliance Requirements

Prospective service providers must meet strict registration and compliance criteria. Registration with the Plumbing Industry Registration Board (PIRB) is compulsory, with proof of registration required with bid submission.

Additional mandatory requirements:

  • For eThekwini district: Durban Metro Plumber’s License/Ticket required
  • Registration with the Master Builders Association
  • Proof of artisan qualifications employed within the tendering organization
