The Department of Land Reform and Rural Development (DLRRD) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number CASE004-02-2026 for the hiring of event infrastructure—including a large tent, chairs, tables, and VIP mobile toilets—for the Drone Schools Education Empowerment Outreach Programme and Career Guidance Exhibition at Thusa-Setjaba Secondary School, Poortjie Thusong Service Centre, on 24 February 2026. The event aims to inspire learners through exposure to drone technology and career pathways in rural development. Submissions must be hand-delivered by 11:00 on Monday, 16 February 2026.
This is a short-term, high-impact opportunity exclusively for local suppliers based in or near Poortjie, Sebokeng, Evaton, or Orange Farm.
Scope of Work: Full Event Setup and Logistics
The successful service provider will supply and deliver:
- One large marquee tent (minimum 6m x 12m) with sidewalls and flooring
- 100 stackable chairs and 20 rectangular tables (suitable for learner workshops and exhibitions)
- Two (2) VIP mobile toilet units with water, lighting, and sanitation supplies
- On-site setup and takedown on the event day
- Secure storage during transit and full compliance with municipal health and safety standards
All equipment must be clean, functional, and suitable for outdoor use in a school environment.
Mandatory Requirements and Local Preference
To qualify, bidders must:
- Be physically based in or near Poortjie, Sebokeng, Evaton, or Orange Farm
- Provide proof of locality (municipal account, lease agreement, or letter from ward councillor)
- Submit a valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN, CIPC registration, and latest CSD report
- Initial every page of the specification document as confirmation of understanding
- Fully complete SBD 6.1, including the table under section 4.2
Only local suppliers who meet all conditions will be considered.
Evaluation Criteria: 80/20 Preferential Procurement System
Quotations will be scored using the 80/20 system:
- 80 points: Price (lowest compliant quote = 80; others scored proportionally)
- 20 points: Specific Goals, with strong emphasis on geographical proximity to the event venue
Preference will be given to SMMEs and cooperatives operating within the immediate community.
