The George Municipality in the Western Cape has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number GMQ087/25-26 for the supply, delivery, and installation of new office furniture across its municipal facilities. The procurement supports modernisation of administrative workspaces and improved ergonomics for staff. Submissions must be hand-delivered by 12:00 on Monday, 16 February 2026, to the Municipal Civic Centre in George.

Scope of Work: End-to-End Office Furniture Provision

The successful service provider will deliver:

  • Desks, chairs, filing cabinets, meeting tables, and storage units
  • Ergonomic seating and adjustable workstations
  • Reception and visitor furniture suitable for public-facing areas
  • Full assembly, installation, and removal of packaging waste

All items must be new, unused, SABS-compliant where applicable, and come with a minimum 12-month warranty. Pricing must include supply, delivery, and installation—no additional charges will be accepted.

Mandatory Submission Requirements

To be considered, quotations must include:

  • A completed pricing schedule with firm, VAT-inclusive rates for all listed items
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN or clearance certificate
  • Proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit (Level 1–8 or EME/QSE)
  • Completed Municipal Bidding Documents: MBD 4 (Declaration of Interest) and MBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim)
  • Proof of past experience via at least two client references for similar office furniture projects

Quotations must be submitted on the official forms provided—no retyped or altered documents will be accepted.

Evaluation Criteria: 80/20 Preferential Procurement System

Quotations will be scored using the 80/20 system:

  • 80 points: Price (lowest compliant quote = 80; others scored proportionally)
  • 20 points: Specific Goals, including:
    • 10 points: Locality within George Municipality
    • 6 points: Within Garden Route District
    • 4 points: Within Western Cape
    • Additional points for Black, women, youth, and disability ownership

Only complete, responsive, and compliant submissions will be evaluated.
