ARC Seeks Tillage Services Provider for Damplaats Farm

The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number ISC01REQ002958 for the provision of mechanised tillage services on a 1-hectare plot at Damplaats, Marobala Village, in the Capricorn District of Limpopo. The scope includes ploughing, discing, and planting of sorghum using tractor-drawn implements during mid-February 2026. Submissions must be emailed by 09:00 on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, to MtungwaF@arc.agric.za.

This is a short-term, high-impact opportunity for local agricultural contractors with access to certified machinery and experience in smallholder research support.

Project Scope: Precision Field Preparation for Sorghum Trials

The successful service provider will execute:

  • Ploughing and discing of 1 hectare using a tractor-drawn mouldboard plough and disc harrow
  • Sorghum planting using a 2-, 4-, or 6-row tractor-drawn planter
  • All work must be completed between 16–17 February 2026, as per the ARC’s agronomic schedule
  • Full compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards for research field trials

Bidders must specify the exact implements they will use and confirm availability for the required dates.

Mandatory Submission Requirements

To be considered, quotations must include:

  • A detailed technical and pricing proposal with firm, VAT-inclusive rates
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN
  • Proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit (Level 1–8 or EME/QSE)
  • Completed Standard Bidding Documents: SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim)
  • Proof of equipment ownership or lease for the required implements

Quotations must be submitted exclusively via email—no hard copies, faxes, or postal submissions will be accepted.

Evaluation Criteria: 80/20 Preferential Procurement System

Quotations will be scored using the 80/20 system:

  • 80 points: Price (lowest compliant quote = 80; others scored proportionally)
  • 20 points: Specific Goals, including Black, women, youth, disability, and military veteran ownership

Only complete, responsive, and compliant submissions will be evaluated.
