South African farmers who are passionate about agriculture and interested in expanding their career opportunities beyond farming can now apply for the Land Bank Insurance Company’s (LBIC) Agricultural Insurance Assessor Programme for Farmers.
This initiative is designed to train farmers as crop insurance assessors, equipping them with practical skills to service the agriculture industry during the summer production season.
About the Programme
The Agricultural Insurance Assessor Programme aims to grow the pool of qualified crop insurance assessors in South Africa’s fruit-producing provinces. This effort forms part of LBIC’s broader commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector through skills development and risk management solutions.
Selected farmers will receive training in crop insurance assessment protocols, preparing them to work with insurance clients and support the industry during critical assessment periods.
Who Should Apply?
LBIC is calling on passionate agricultural practitioners who meet the following criteria:
- South African youth and female farmers are encouraged to apply
- Must hold an agriculture-related qualification
- Must own a reliable vehicle (off-road vehicle preferred)
- Must be residing in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, or Western Cape
- Available during the peak summer season (October 2025 – April 2026)
- Demonstrated interest and passion for agriculture
