The Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) has issued a call for applications for an accredited Cosmetology Skills Development Programme, specifically targeting unemployed individuals in KwaZulu-Natal. This strategic initiative is designed to equip participants with practical, industry-relevant skills that foster self-employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable income-generating opportunities within the rapidly growing beauty and wellness sector. By lowering barriers to entry, the programme actively promotes economic participation among youth, women, and individuals from rural and township communities.
Programme Details and Scope
The programme will accommodate a cohort of 50 participants and will be delivered by an accredited training provider in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, with a tentative start date in November 2026. The comprehensive curriculum is structured to provide foundational and advanced competencies across three core modules:
- Nail Care (15 Days)
- Make-Up Application (1 Month)
- Swedish Body Massage (2 Months)
Participants who successfully complete all training modules and assessments will receive formal, accredited certification, enhancing their professional credibility and marketability.
