ACSA Diesel Generator Maintenance Tender 2026

The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) invites qualified service providers to bid for the provision of a standby diesel generator maintenance contract at Western Precinct for a period of 36 months. This open tender (74266 – Re-issue) ensures the reliable operation of critical backup power infrastructure at ACSA facilities.

Tender Overview and Scope

The appointed service provider will deliver comprehensive maintenance services for standby diesel generators above 550 kVA. The scope includes routine servicing, inspections, testing, and repairs to ensure generators remain operational during power outages. The contract spans 36 months with fixed rates and prices for the full duration.

Mandatory Requirements

Bidders must submit the following documents to avoid disqualification:

  • Completed and signed SBD 1, SBD 4, and SBD 6.1 forms
  • CIDB contractor grading of 3EP/EB or higher
  • Valid Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Commissioner (COIDA)
  • Tax Compliance Status PIN and CSD registration
  • CIPC registration documents and ID copies of directors
  • Bank letter of good standing and letter of solvency
  • Completed NEC Form of Offer and Contract Document
  • Proof of insurance commitment

Technical Evaluation

Bidders must achieve a minimum functionality score of 75 points out of 100. Scoring criteria include company experience with reference letters (30 points), qualifications for key resources including electrical technician, electrician, diesel mechanic, and safety officer (40 points), and experience for key resources (30 points). All qualifications are mandatory, and experience will not be scored without supporting documents.

Pricing and Preference Points

The 80/20 preference point system applies. Price carries 80 points, while specific goals account for 20 points. Preference points are awarded for B-BBEE status levels, black youth majority-owned entities (5 points), black women majority-owned entities (5 points), and companies majority owned by people with disabilities (5 points). The contract uses the NEC4 Term Service Contract.

Submission Details and Deadline

Bids close on Friday, 23 October 2026, at 16:00. Electronic submissions must be emailed to acsarfq@airports.co.za. A non-compulsory briefing session will be held via Microsoft Teams on 07 October 2026 at 10:00. Queries must be submitted by 07 October 2026 at 16:00.
