Tourism Seeks Security Provider for Lilani Hot Springs Project

The Department of Tourism has issued a Request for Quotation (NB096/2026) to appoint a suitable physical security service provider. This strategic procurement aims to secure the Lilani Hot Springs Project site in KwaZulu-Natal, ensuring the safety of the facility, its assets, and future visitors.

Scope of Services

The successful bidder will be responsible for comprehensive site protection and maintenance. Key deliverables include:

  • Providing armed guarding services on a continuous basis.
  • Executing regular grasscutting and site maintenance to keep the premises secure and presentable.
  • Implementing robust access control and incident reporting protocols.

Key Dates and Deadlines

  • Date Published: Tuesday, 8 September 2026
  • Closing Date: Tuesday, 15 September 2026 at 10:00

Mandatory Requirements

  • Valid PSIRA registration certificate for the Security Company
  • Company registration documents (COR39)
  • Valid PSIRA letter of Good Standing for the company
  • Valid letter of Good Standing from Workman’s Compensation Commission (COIDA)
  • Valid PSIRA registration certificates for supervisors and operational manager
  • Directors must submit valid PSIRA Certificate, CV, and ID copies (minimum Grade C or higher)
  • Template of salary payments for security officers
  • Proof of office in KwaZulu-Natal Province (municipal bill, lease agreement, or traditional office letter)
  • Minimum three contactable reference letters or purchase orders with minimum contract value of R100,000 each
  • Minimum five years’ experience in the security industry

Submission Guidelines

A critical special condition applies: only suppliers based within the KwaZulu-Natal Province will be considered. Completed RFQ documents must be hand-delivered or posted to the Department of Tourism, Tourism House, 17 Travenna Street, Sunnyside, Pretoria, 0001, before the strict closing deadline.
