The Msunduzi Local Municipality has issued an open Request for Bid (Contract No. SCM 14 of 26-27) for the appointment of a panel of pharmaceutical wholesalers and distributors. This strategic 36-month contract aims to ensure a reliable, compliant, and continuous supply of essential medication and surgical items to the municipality’s occupational health clinics.

Scope of Supply

The successful service providers will be responsible for the procurement, storage, maintenance, and distribution of pharmaceutical and surgical products. Key deliverables include:

  • Supplying generic or equivalent products as specified in the official pricing schedule.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with South African Regulatory Pharmaceutical Standards and the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Delivering all approved orders within 10 working days of purchase order receipt.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Active membership certificate with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

Evaluation Criteria

Tenders will be adjudicated using a rigorous Two-Stage Evaluation System. Stage One assesses functionality, requiring a minimum threshold score to proceed. Stage Two applies the 80/20 Preferential Procurement Point System, allocating 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals, including B-BBEE compliance and local enterprise support.
