Artscape, a premier cultural institution and Schedule 3A national entity under the Public Finance Management Act, has released a Request for Quotation for an engaging Smoothie Bike(s) experience to enhance its upcoming Annual Wellness Day.
Event Overview and Scope
The Wellness Day is scheduled for 8 September 2026 from 09:00 to 13:00 at the Artscape premises in Cape Town, with approximately 50 employees expected to participate. The chosen service provider will be responsible for supplying and operating smoothie bike(s) as an interactive wellness activation.
Service Provider Requirements
To be considered, providers must:
- Supply and operate their own fully functional smoothie bike(s) with reliable blending mechanisms
- Provide all necessary fresh ingredients (fruits, vegetables, etc.)
- Ensure bikes are safe for use and meet commercial standards
- Promote awareness of healthy eating and lifestyle choices during the activation
Experience and Documentation
Bidders must demonstrate:
- 2–3 years’ experience delivering similar services at wellness or corporate events
- 3–5 testimonials from executives or clients who have successfully used their services
- Commitment to submit a summary report with participant feedback post-event
- Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
Compliance and Submission Requirements
All bidders must submit the following mandatory documentation:
- BBBEE Certificate or Sworn Affidavit
- SARS registration number and Tax Compliance Status PIN
- Completed Standard Bidding Documents: SBD4, SBD6.1, SBD6.2 (if applicable), SBD8 & SBD9
- Supplier response form with pricing per unit and total cost (VAT inclusive)
Evaluation and Preference Points
The RFQ follows the 80/20 preference point system:
- 80 points for price, scored using the formula Ps = 80 × (1 – (Pt – Pmin)/Pmin)
- 20 points for B-BBEE status level contribution:
- Level 1: 20 points
- Level 2: 18 points
- Level 3: 14 points
- Level 4: 12 points
- Level 5: 8 points
- Level 6: 6 points
- Level 7: 4 points
- Level 8: 2 points
- Non-compliant: 0 points
