NNR Tender: Wall Repair and PVC Drainpipe Replacement

The National Nuclear Regulator (NNR) has issued a Request for Quotation for the appointment of a suitably qualified service provider to repair a water-damaged wall and replace a faulty PVC drainpipe at its Head Office in Centurion. This opportunity is ideal for smaller, CIDB-registered construction and maintenance firms specialising in building repairs .

Tender Overview

The NNR invites tenders under reference number NNRCSSRFQ-29-2026 for remedial building works at its Eco Glades 2 office park premises . The quotation has a closing date of Friday, 18 September 2026 at 11:00 .

As a public entity established in terms of the National Nuclear Regulator Act, the NNR is responsible for safety standards and regulatory practices to protect persons, property, and the environment against nuclear damage .

Scope of Work

The successful service provider will be required to undertake a comprehensive repair of water-damaged areas. The scope of work includes:

  • Replacement of the defective PVC drainpipe including all associated fittings and couplings.
  • Sealing all pipe penetrations and joints using approved waterproof sealant.
  • Removal of damaged paint and loose plaster from the affected wall areas on both the ground and first floors.
  • Repairing and reinstating the damaged plaster surface.
  • Application of plaster primer and a damp-resistant sealer.
  • Repainting the affected wall surface to match the existing finish.
  • Provision of a safety file and responsible rubble removal.

Bidders are strongly encouraged to arrange a site inspection to familiarise themselves with the conditions and assess the full extent of the required work.

CIDB Grading Requirement

Only tenderers with a valid CIDB contractor grading designation of 1GB or higher will be considered . This grading indicates the contractor possesses the financial and technical capacity for general building projects valued up to R10 million . Bidders must provide proof of their registration.

Staged Evaluation Process

Bids will be evaluated in a three-stage process:

  • Stage 1: Administrative Compliance, verifying submission of all required documentation, including a valid SARS PIN, CSD registration, COID certificate, and signed SBD forms.
  • Stage 2: Mandatory Requirements, checking compliance with the CIDB 1GB grading.
  • Stage 3: Price and Specific Goals, where bids are scored on an 80/20 system. A maximum of 80 points will be awarded for price, and 20 points for specific goals.

Specific goals points are allocated for ownership equity: 10 points for 50% or more black-owned, 5 points for 30% or more black women-owned, 3 points for 20% or more white women-owned, and 2 points for 10% or more people with disabilities. Supporting documentation such as certified IDs and B-BBEE certificates must be submitted to claim these points.
