Mnquma Local Municipality has published an open tender (SCM/MLM/05/26-27) inviting qualified service providers to hire decor for the annual 16 Days of Activism campaign.

Tender Overview and Key Dates

This Request for Quotation seeks a service provider to supply and deliver various decor items for the municipality’s 16 Days of Activism events . Bids close on 31 August 2026 at 12:00 PM, with no briefing session scheduled. Documents are available for free download from the Mnquma website (www.mnquma.gov.za) and the eTender portal.

Scope of Decor Requirements

The required items include:

  • 1 x Tent for 200 people (3 pole tent)
  • 200 chairs with 50 chair covers (Black)
  • 3 x Trestle tables with black tablecloths
  • Front Stage draping with Mnquma colours (White/Black/Orange/Green)
  • 1 x 2 Meter draped stage
  • 2 x Portable ablution facilities
  • 1 x Sound system with 3 cordless microphones
  • 1 x Backup Generator with 10-meter extension cord

Compulsory Documentation

Bidders must submit a comprehensive package including:

  • Full CSD Report (not older than one month)
  • SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN
  • Company registration documents (CK) and certified ID copies of directors (not older than 6 months)
  • Completed and signed MBD forms (MBD 1-9)
  • Municipal rates clearance (no arrears exceeding 3 months) or lease agreement
  • Resolution of Directors/Members authorising the signatory

Preference Points System

The municipality will apply the 80/20 preference points system:

  • Price – 80 points
  • Specific Goals – 20 points

Specific goals allocation:

  • 10 points: EME or QSE with at least 51% black ownership (MBD 6.1 and CSD Report required)
  • 10 points: Enterprises located within Mnquma Local Municipality area (municipal rates statement or lease agreement required)

Submission Details

Bids must be hand-delivered to the tender box at No. 61 Rev Tiyo Soga Building, Blyth Street, Butterworth, by the closing date and time . The envelope must be clearly endorsed with the bid number and project name, with the company details on the back. Bids remain valid for 90 days from the closing date.
