Scope of Work

TASEZ seeks a pool of caterers to deliver reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective services for various events, meetings, and training sessions . The scope includes:

  • Preparing, supplying, and delivering meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks)
  • Accommodating dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, allergen-free)
  • Removing and safely disposing of food and packaging waste
  • Providing resources such as food premises with a valid Certificate of Acceptability, transport, key contact personnel, professional cooks, serving staff, and sufficient serving equipment

Functionality Evaluation

Bidders must achieve a minimum of 70 out of 100 points to proceed to the next stage . Functionality criteria include:

  • Company Experience (30 points): Verifiable and signed reference letters from previous clients for catering services provided within the last six years
  • Qualifications of Key Personnel (20 points): Cook must hold a National Diploma in Professional Cookery or a Certificate in Food Preparation and Cooking (Culinary Art)
  • Experience of Key Personnel (30 points): Detailed CV of the cook detailing experience (5 years and above scores maximum points)
  • Methodology (20 points): Good understanding of the scope of work and the catering industry

Price and Preference Points

Bids will be evaluated on the 80/20 principle. The bidder must have a minimum B-BBEE status level of contributor 3 or higher . Bidders should note the maximum allocated rates for breakfast (R131.25 per person) and lunch (R236.25 per person), which are subject to CPI escalation in years 2 and 3.

Submission Details

Bids must be deposited in the tender box at the TASEZ Main Entrance, CSIR Campus, Building 21, Meiring Naude Road, by 12:00 on 28 August 2026. Bidders are required to initial each page of the RFP document.
