The Umsobomvu Local Municipality has issued Request for Quotation UMS/TS/EPWP/PPE/07/2026 for the supply and delivery of Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This targeted procurement aims to equip municipal workers with high-quality, compliant safety gear in the Northern Cape.
Scope of Works and PPE Specifications
The appointed service provider will supply and deliver various PPE items as per the detailed specifications. The required items include:
- Two-Piece Overalls: Orange, made of 65/35 poly-cotton twill (230g/m2), with zip fastening, and “EPWP” wording and logo embroidered on the back.
- Safety Boots: Equivalent to DOT Chelsea Safety Boot, EN ISO 20345 Approved, with slip-resistant, shock-absorbent, and heat-resistant features.
- Safety Gloves: Equivalent to Dromex MIIZU 300 HI, with a 100% polyurethane palm coating.
- Safety Eyewear: Equivalent to Dromex, with a polycarbonate lens and vinyl frame.
- Heavy Brushed Cricket Hat: Lightweight with metal eyelets for breathability.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered, bidders must submit the following documentation with their quotation:
- A formal price quotation on the company letterhead.
- A valid Tax Compliance Status Pin or Certificate.
- Certified copy of Identity Documents for Company Directors (stamp not older than 6 months).
- Copy of Company Registration Documents (CIPC).
- Certified B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit.
- Proof of no outstanding municipal rates and taxes.
- Proof of CSD Registration.
- A signed MBD4 (Declaration of Interest) and MBD8 (Declaration of Bidder’s Past Supply Chain Management Practices).
Strict Physical Submission Protocols
Sealed, written price quotations clearly marked “SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF EPWP PPE” must be deposited in the official tender box. Faxed, electronic, or late submissions will be summarily disqualified to ensure a fair and transparent procurement process.
