The Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) has issued an open tender (MICT/SETA/EQU/01/2026) to appoint a panel of service providers for the supply and delivery of ICT equipment and peripherals. This strategic three-year contract targets accredited technology vendors to modernize the authority’s digital infrastructure and operational capabilities.

Tender Scope and Technical Requirements

The appointed service providers will supply, deliver, and support ICT equipment, including laptops, iPads, monitors, and peripherals. Bidders must demonstrate technical compliance with detailed specifications provided in the bid document .

Key requirements include:

  • Laptops: Intel Core i7 (12th Gen or newer) or AMD Ryzen 5 (5000 series or newer), Windows 11 Pro, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, with a three-year onsite warranty.
  • iPads: 11-inch iPad Pro with 256GB Wi-Fi + Cellular, Face ID, and Apple accessories.
  • Monitors: 27-inch EliteDisplay E273 FHD.
  • Peripherals: Cordless keyboard and mouse combo, docking stations, and laptop bags.

Mandatory OEM Accreditation and Compliance

Bidders must possess valid OEM accreditation certificates for the proposed equipment. MICT SETA will strictly verify these credentials directly with the manufacturers. Furthermore, all tenderers must be registered on the National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database (CSD) and submit a valid Tax Compliance Status PIN.

Evaluation Criteria and Functionality Threshold

Proposals will undergo a rigorous functionality assessment, requiring a minimum threshold of 80 points. Scoring heavily rewards verifiable five-year reference letters for ICT supply, comprehensive risk management plans, and rapid lead times (1 to 4 weeks for delivery). Next-business-day equipment replacement attracts maximum after-sales support points.

Submission Protocols and Key Dates

Sealed bid documents must be hand-delivered to the MICT SETA Head Office. Late, faxed, or emailed submissions will not be considered under any circumstances. The bid validity period is 120 days from the closing date.

  • Closing Date: Tuesday, 18 August 2026
  • Closing Time: 11:00
  • Venue: Gallagher Convention Centre, 19 Richards Drive, Midrand, 1685
