The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) has issued an open tender (DSAC 010/2627) for the provision of comprehensive event management goods and services for the 2026 Reed Dance (Umkhosi Womhlanga). This strategic procurement targets capable service providers to ensure the seamless execution of this major cultural heritage event.
Scope of Works and Event Logistics
The successful bidder will manage extensive event requirements including:
- Infrastructure: Marquees, tables, chairs, and staging for up to 35,000 attendees
- Catering and Groceries: Large-scale meal preparation for maidens, guests, and officials
- Security and Safety: Crowd control, marshalling, and comprehensive safety plans
- Medical Services: Emergency medical services compliant with mass gathering regulations
- Public Liability Insurance: Cover for up to 35,000 persons
Compulsory Briefing Session
Attendance at the pre-bid clarification meeting is strictly mandatory. Bidders must arrive at least 15 minutes before the 10:00 start time, as doors will close precisely at 10:00. Late arrivals will not be permitted. An original certificate of attendance must be submitted with the final bid document; failure to provide this will invalidate the proposal.

- Bidder’s Disclosure Form: Fully completed
- Authority to Sign the Bid: With proof of authority (e.g., company resolution)
- Annexure A – Reference Letters: Five signed reference letters from previous clients
- Annexure B – Schedule of Projects: Completed with project details
