Johannesburg Water has issued Request for Quotation RFQJW003NS26-27 for comprehensive building maintenance and repair services at its Midrand facilities. This targeted procurement invites capable construction and maintenance contractors to execute essential infrastructure upgrades, ensuring a safe and functional working environment.

Scope of Works and Facility Upgrades

The appointed contractor will be responsible for a diverse range of building maintenance tasks. The comprehensive scope includes:

  • Supply, repair, and replacement of doors, door frames, and locks.
  • Installation and repair of windows, including frames and glass.
  • Supply and installation of burglar doors and security locks.
  • Ceiling repairs, painting, and waterproofing services.

Mandatory Documentation Requirements

Bidders must submit the following documents with their quotations:

  • Original valid Tax Clearance Certificate or valid SARS PIN
  • Valid BBBEE certificate or compliant Sworn Affidavit (non-compliant affidavits will be scored zero)
  • Municipal rates and taxes statement (not older than 3 months, not in arrears for more than 90 days)
  • Signed Declaration of Interest form (MBD 4)
  • Declaration of Bidder’s past supply chain management practices (MBD 8)
  • Certificate of Independent Proposal Determination (MBD 9)
  • Proof of CSD registration / MAAA Supplier Number
  • Preference points claim form (MBD 6.1)
  • Company registration documents with ID copies of directors/shareholders

Bidders must also comply with CIDB grading requirements (GB1 or higher).

SHE Requirements

The contractor must comply with Johannesburg Water’s Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) specifications, including:

  • Valid Letter of Good Standing and SHE plan
  • Risk assessment and safe working procedures
  • Notification of construction work to Department of Labour
  • Medical surveillance and induction for employees
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – no shorts or dresses allowed on site
  • Weekly inspections and monthly audits will be conducted on site

Compulsory Site Briefing Session

Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid site inspection is strictly enforced. Bidders who fail to attend will be automatically disqualified from the evaluation process.
