Eskom has issued an open tender (3000262597) for the provision of cleaning, rehabilitation, and management of environmental spillages and related threats at the Komati Power Station in Mpumalanga. This strategic environmental services contract targets specialized firms to safeguard the ecological integrity of the energy node.
Scope of Works and Environmental Rehabilitation
The appointed service provider will be responsible for the cleaning, rehabilitation, and management of environmental spillages at Komati Power Station.
Key deliverables include:
- Environmental Cleanup: Cleaning and rehabilitation of areas affected by chemical, oil, or other hazardous material spillages.
- Waste Management: Safe transportation and disposal of hazardous waste at registered and compliant landfill sites.
- Rehabilitation: Restoration of contaminated areas to meet environmental standards.
- Compliance: Adherence to all applicable legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, environmental regulations, and hazardous substance transport requirements.
Electronic Submission Requirements
In alignment with Eskom’s digital procurement strategy, all tender responses must be submitted electronically via the Eskom E-Tendering portal. Physical submissions will not be accepted. Bidders must ensure their proposals are uploaded well before the strict closing deadline to avoid system timeouts.

Submissions must include valid Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration, tax clearance, a comprehensive Baseline Risk Assessment (BRA), and an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plan specific to hazardous spillage management and environmental threat mitigation.
