The Limpopo Department of Social Development has issued an open tender (DSDP 40/26) for the appointment of an accredited service provider to conduct a once-off skills training programme for 120 vulnerable youth across the province. This strategic initiative aims to empower young people with occupational certificates that facilitate entry into the mainstream economy and foster entrepreneurship.
Scope of Training and District Allocation
The appointed provider will deliver training for two occupational certificates: Nail Therapist (SAQA ID 121670) and Make-Up Consultant (SAQA ID 121669). The programme will be distributed evenly across Limpopo’s five districts—Mopani, Vhembe, Capricorn, Sekhukhune, and Waterberg—with 24 youth trained per discipline in each region.
Target Demographic and Economic Impact
The initiative specifically targets unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 35. By equipping participants with recognized occupational skills, the Department seeks to alleviate poverty, reduce vulnerability, and stimulate local economic growth through self-employment and small business development in the beauty and wellness sector.
