uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) has issued an open tender (2026/086) for the provision of comprehensive cleaning services across 14 of its critical water and wastewater treatment facilities. This strategic contract ensures optimal hygiene, safety, and operational efficiency at key provincial infrastructure in KwaZulu-Natal.
Scope of Works and Facility Network
The appointed service provider will manage daily cleaning, deep sanitation, window washing, waste removal, and hygiene equipment servicing. The extensive network spans 14 sites, including Ixopo, Howick, Mpofana, Lidgetton, Lynnfield, Camperdown, Richmond, Coolair, Appelsbosch, Mpophomeni, Trustfeed, and Albert Falls North and South.

Bidders must submit the following mandatory documents with their tender:
- SBD 4 – Bidder’s Disclosure
- Valid Letter of Good Standing for workman’s compensation (COIDA)
- Valid Bargaining Council Contract Cleaning Industry (BCCI) registration certificate
- Black Owned Co-operatives (CIPC and CSD)
- Proof of being located within the specified municipalities (CIPC)
- SBD 6.1 – Preference Points Claim Form
- Certificate of Authority for signatory / Delegation of authority
- Record of Addenda issued (if any)
- Registration on the National Treasury Database (proof)
- Attendance certificate for the compulsory briefing session
- Active Registration with Company Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC/CIPRO certificate)
- Joint Venture Agreement (if applicable)
- Letters of confirmation from previous successful clients, certificates of training, and CVs
- CPG Declaration (not applicable)
- Health and Safety Declaration
- Insurance Requirements (Public Liability and Professional Indemnity)
- Completed Pricing Schedule
Evaluation and Functionality Criteria
Proposals will undergo a rigorous two-stage evaluation requiring a minimum functionality threshold of 70 out of 100 points. The assessment heavily weights the experience, training, and qualifications of key personnel assigned to the project, alongside a proven track record in industrial cleaning, supply of consumables, and strict occupational health and safety compliance.
Compulsory Briefing Session
Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid clarification meeting is strictly required. Failure to attend will result in immediate disqualification.
