The Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) has issued Request for Quotation RFQ/MICT/19/2026, seeking to appoint a panel of competent catering service providers. This 12-month rotational contract offers successful bidders consistent opportunities to supply food services for the authority’s head office events, conferences, and training sessions in Midrand.
Tender Overview and Scope
The appointed panel will provide comprehensive catering solutions on a rotational basis. The scope includes light refreshments, full meals, fresh fruit platters, and event-specific catering. Providers must also accommodate special dietary requirements, including Halal, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals, ensuring setup, serving, and cleanup are professionally managed.
Mandatory Compliance Criteria
To qualify, bidders must meet strict mandatory requirements:
- Operate a fully functional kitchen within a 25km radius of the MICT SETA Head Office in Halfway House, Midrand.
- Demonstrate at least five years of catering experience, supported by three positive client reference letters.
- Hold a valid Health Certificate or Certificate of Acceptance (COA) from relevant authorities.
Evaluation and Food Tasting
Following mandatory compliance, shortlisted bidders will undergo a practical food tasting evaluation at the MICT SETA head office. Bidders must achieve a minimum overall rating of 20 out of 25 points across presentation, aroma, texture, taste, and cutlery to proceed to the price and specific goals evaluation stage.
