The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) invites qualified civil aviation contractors to submit quotations for runway, taxiway, and apron painting at Chief Dawid Stuurman Airport (CDSIA) in Gqeberha. This critical infrastructure maintenance opportunity ensures optimal safety, visibility, and compliance with international aviation standards.

Tender Scope & Contract Model

The successful bidder will be responsible for the application of pavement markings in strict accordance with ICAO Annex 14 aerodrome standards (including specified alphabet and number stencil forms). The contract follows the NEC3 Term Service Contract (Main Option P – Percentage Based). Key contractual terms include:

  • Completion Period: 3 months from contract start date.
  • Defects Liability Period: 6 months after completion.
  • Delay Damages: 2% of contract value per day (max 10%).
  • Payment: 4 weeks after receipt of a valid tax invoice.

Mandatory CIDB Grading & Submission Requirements

Only tenderers with a CIDB contractor grading of 2SK or higher may submit offers. Mandatory returnable documents for evaluation include:

  • Valid Letter of Good Standing (COIDA)
  • CIDB registration certificate
  • SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN
  • Bank letter of good standing & Letter of solvency from auditors
  • CSD proof of registration
  • CIPC registration documents (or JV/Partnership/Trust deed)
  • Certified ID copies of all shareholders, directors, members, trustees, or partners
  • Completed SBD 4 (Bidder’s Disclosure) & SBD 6.1 (Preference points claim)

Submission Guidelines and Deadline

Submissions must be hand-delivered in sealed envelopes to the Administrator Office, Aeropark Office Complex, Block A, 1st Floor, Allister Miller Drive, Walmer. Late or electronically transmitted bids will be strictly disqualified.
