The Land and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa invites qualified service providers to submit quotations for cleaning fire breaks and general vegetation management across multiple farm properties in the Northern Cape. This Request for Quotation (RFQ/NC01/26) supports critical fire prevention and land maintenance objectives.

Scope of Works

Service providers will be required to:

  • Cut grass along farm boundaries (5 metres from fences) to prevent fire spread to neighbouring properties
  • Clear vegetation underneath and alongside three irrigation pivots to prevent equipment damage
  • Reduce fire risk by cutting grass under pecan trees
  • Clean yards surrounding fixed structures on both properties
  • Trim or cut back overhanging trees near permanent infrastructure

The work spans four plots within Vaalhartsnedersetting B, Barkly West District:

  • Plot 55 (25.6303 ha) and Plot 56 (25.6346 ha)
  • Remainder of Plot 494 (73.1366 ha)
  • Plot 495 (69.3053 ha)

Submission Requirements

Bidders must submit:

  • A quotation aligned with the scope of work
  • Valid SARS tax compliance status (verified via CSD or e-filing)
  • Proof of Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration
  • Fully completed and signed SBD 4 (Bidder’s Disclosure)
  • Completed SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim Form)
  • Pricing exclusive of VAT with clear assumptions documented

Evaluation Process

Proposals undergo two-stage evaluation:

  • Stage 1: Mandatory compliance with administrative and statutory requirements
  • Stage 2: Price and specific goals assessment using the 80/20 preference point system per Preferential Procurement Regulations 2022
