Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) has published a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the supply of Bluetooth speakers and wireless microphones. This tender, designated RQ-112422, seeks to procure 20 Bluetooth speakers and 20 wireless microphones to support the organisation’s operational requirements.

Scope of Work: Audio Equipment Supply

The appointed service provider will be required to supply 20 units of each item, meeting the following technical specifications:

Bluetooth Speaker:

  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3
  • Total power output: 5 W
  • Bluetooth operating range: 10 m
  • Frequency response: 180Hz – 15KHz
  • Built-in microphone: Yes
  • Charging time: 2.5 hours

Wireless Microphone (BezosMax 2.4G or Equivalent):

  • Range: Up to 30 metres (100 ft)
  • Frequency response: 50 Hz – 15 kHz
  • Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 59 dBA

Mandatory Submission Requirements

All quotations must be submitted electronically to quotations@statssa.gov.za on or before the closing date. Late submissions will not be accepted. Bidders must include the following documents:

  • Quotation on company letterhead with a quotation reference number, validity period, delivery period, CSD Master registration number (MAAA), and tax compliance status PIN.
  • Completed SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim Form).
  • E-filing copy of valid Tax Clearance Certificate.
  • Certified copy of ID document.
  • Original or certified copy of company registration (CIPC).

Evaluation: 80/20 Preference Points System

Quotations will be evaluated using the 80/20 scoring system, where 80 points are allocated for price and 20 points for specific goals. Points for specific goals are allocated as follows:

  • Race (Black ownership): 10 points
  • Women ownership: 5 points
  • Disability: 2 points (medical certificate required)
  • Youth (below 35 years): 3 points

The formula NEP = NOP × (EP / 100) will be used to calculate points for equity ownership by Historically Disadvantaged Individuals (HDIs). Bidders claiming points must attach certified ID copies and company registration documents to substantiate percentage ownership.

General Conditions

  • All quoted prices must be firm and valid for the duration of the order. Prices dependent on exchange rates must factor in escalations.
  • Suppliers must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
  • Stats SA will not provide upfront payment; payment will be made within 30 days of receiving a valid invoice and upon delivery of goods.
  • The appointment will not necessarily be based on the lowest quote. Stats SA reserves the right not to award the contract or to procure only selected items.

All quotations must be emailed to quotations@statssa.gov.za. The email subject line should clearly reference the RFQ number. Bidders are advised to ensure submissions are complete and sent well before the closing time to avoid transmission delays.
