The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ No: RFQ/LOG/2026/10251510/10) for the appointment of a service provider to deliver comprehensive maintenance and servicing of air conditioning systems at its North West facility in Mmabatho over a three-year period. This critical infrastructure support ensures uninterrupted broadcasting operations at a site designated as a National Key Point. Submissions must be emailed by 12:00 on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, to RFQSubmissions@sabc.co.za.
Scope of Air Conditioning Maintenance Services
- Preventative, corrective, and emergency servicing of 58 Air Handling Units, 20 split units, chilled water pumps, ducting, humidifiers, and cold rooms
- Monthly and quarterly maintenance schedules over a 36-month period
- Compliance with safety protocols at SABC Mmabatho, a National Key Point facility
Mandatory Technical and Compliance Requirements
- Valid CIDB grading of 3ME or higher
- Proof of operational office within 150km of SABC North West (Mmabatho)
- At least one trade-tested technician with 3+ years’ experience in HVAC systems
- Submission of three client reference letters from similar projects in the past five years

Evaluation and Pricing Structure
- Functionality assessment (min. 70/100 points) based on references, staff expertise, and technical approach
- Followed by 80/20 preferential scoring (price + empowerment goals)
- Quoted rates must include VAT (if applicable) and allow for 6.5% annual CPI escalation
