This three-year contract, running from 2026 to 2029, supports nutritional services at the Eskom Academy of Learning (EAL) in Midrand while offering compliant service providers long-term engagement with South Africa’s primary electricity utility.

  • Supply of Class/Grade 1 fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs meeting FSSC 22000 hygiene standards
  • Provision of whole, peeled, grated, sliced, diced and pre-packed produce as per EAL catering requirements

  • All produce must be premium quality, freshly picked, crisp, vibrant and free of defects
  • Packaging must comply with item-specific requirements using boxes, plastic bags or buckets
  • Suppliers must maintain temperature-controlled facilities and follow stringent hygiene processes
  • Products must comply with SABS standards and Eskom’s supplier quality management specifications

Evaluation Criteria and Preference Points

Proposals undergo three-stage evaluation:

  • Stage 1: Administrative compliance with mandatory documents (CSD registration, tax clearance, SBD forms)
  • Stage 2: Functionality scoring (minimum 70/100 required) assessing company experience and technical capability
  • Stage 3: Price and preference points using the 80/20 system with specific goals for HDI ownership

Submission Guidelines and Deadlines

Tenders close strictly at 10:00 on Thursday, 30 April 2026. All submissions must be uploaded electronically via Eskom’s e-tendering portal at https://eTendering.eskom.co.za/tender/. Late, faxed or emailed submissions will not be considered. Proposals must remain valid for 180 calendar days from closing date.
