The BANKSETA, in partnership with the Gordon Institute of Business Science Entrepreneurship Development Academy, has launched the StartYourBiz Programme for aspiring entrepreneurs in the Northwest Province. This initiative aims to support early-stage entrepreneurs in taking their next steps toward launching and formalizing their ventures.

Who Should Apply

The programme targets South African citizens over 18 who have completed Matric and can provide proof. Ideal candidates include:

  • Aspiring entrepreneurs with some business experience
  • Individuals running side-hustles or income-generating activities
  • Formally self-employed persons (unemployed by external organizations)
  • Passionate individuals committed to blazing their own entrepreneurial path

Programme Benefits

Participants will learn and refine their business acumen to serve their entrepreneurial journey. The curriculum focuses on practical skills needed to transition from aspiring entrepreneur to formal business owner, providing foundational knowledge for sustainable venture development.

Applications opened on 06 March 2026 and will close on 30 March 2026. Interested candidates in the Northwest Province must submit their applications before the deadline to be considered for this opportunity.

  • South African citizenship
  • Age 18 years or older
  • Matric certificate with proof
  • Evidence of entrepreneurial intention (side-hustle or income-generating activity)
