Iziko Museums Seeks Refreshments Supplier for Cape Town Event

Iziko Museums of South Africa has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number IZIKO-RFQ-EDU-OUTREACH-02-26 for the supply of refreshments to support an upcoming education outreach programme in Cape Town. The event will host learners and educators, and requires light, nutritious refreshments served in reusable, eco-friendly packaging. Submissions must be emailed by 11:00 on Monday, 23 February 2026, to cvanniekerk@iziko.org.za and scm@iziko.org.za.

This is a short-term, high-impact opportunity for local caterers or food service providers committed to sustainability and youth engagement.

Scope of Work: Eco-Conscious Refreshments for Educational Engagement

The successful service provider will supply:

  • 500 x 35mm clear film canisters (with snap-on lids, no twisting mechanism)
  • 500 x small zip-lock bags (50mm x 70mm) for individual snacks
  • 500 x medium zip-lock bags (150mm x 180mm) for meal portions
  • 10 litres of white vinegar and 3kg of bicarbonate of soda (for educational science activities)
  • 100 x plastic measuring jugs (1-litre capacity, with pouring lip)

All items must be new, unused, food-grade where applicable, and delivered in durable, reusable packaging aligned with Iziko’s environmental values.

Mandatory Submission Requirements

To be considered, quotations must include:

  • A formal quote on company letterhead with firm, VAT-inclusive pricing
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN or clearance certificate
  • Proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit (Level 1–8 or EME/QSE)
  • Completed Standard Bidding Document 4 (SBD 4 – Declaration of Interest)

Quotations must be submitted exclusively via email—no hard copies, faxes, or postal submissions will be accepted.

Evaluation Criteria: 80/20 Preferential Procurement System

Quotations will be scored using the 80/20 system:

  • 80 points: Price (lowest compliant quote = 80; others scored proportionally)
  • 20 points: Specific Goals, including Black, women, youth, disability, and military veteran ownership

Only complete, responsive, and compliant submissions will be evaluated.

  • Subject Line: Must include “IZIKO-RFQ-EDU-OUTREACH-02-26 – Refreshments”
  • Late or incomplete submissions will be disqualified

Quote validity must be 90 days from the closing date.
