PRASA Seeks Train Operations Uniform Supplier

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number 10366040 for the supply and delivery of train operations uniforms for its operational staff in Gauteng. The procurement supports PRASA’s commitment to professional presentation, safety, and brand identity across its rail network. Submissions must be emailed by 10:00 on Friday, 20 February 2026, to makgwale.tshehla@prasa.com.

This is a time-sensitive opportunity with a narrow response window—suppliers are urged to act promptly and ensure full compliance.

Scope of Supply: Branded, Functional Rail Uniforms

The successful service provider will supply:

  • Long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts with PRASA branding
  • Trousers and utility pants suitable for daily rail operations
  • High-visibility safety vests and reflective gear
  • Caps and headwear featuring official insignia
  • All items must be durable, weather-appropriate, and compliant with occupational safety standards

Uniforms must be manufactured in South Africa and feature embroidered PRASA and Metrorail logos as specified in the annexure.

Mandatory Submission Requirements

To be considered, quotations must include:

  • A completed pricing schedule with firm, VAT-inclusive rates per item
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN or clearance certificate
  • Proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit (Level 1–8 or EME/QSE)
  • Completed Standard Bidding Documents: SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim)
  • Sample images or fabric swatches demonstrating compliance with specifications

Quotations must be submitted exclusively via email—no hard copies, faxes, or postal submissions will be accepted.

Evaluation Criteria: 80/20 Preferential Procurement System

Quotations will be scored using the 80/20 system:

  • 80 points: Price (lowest compliant quote = 80; others scored proportionally)
  • 20 points: Specific Goals, including Black, women, youth, disability, and military veteran ownership

Only complete, responsive, and compliant submissions will be evaluated.

  • Subject Line: Must include “10366040 – Train Operations Uniform”
  • Late or incomplete submissions will be disqualified
