The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number Rec 73374 for the supply and delivery of specialised grass cutting equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) for operations at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park, Gauteng. The procurement supports airside vegetation management to ensure aviation safety, runway integrity, and compliance with international aerodrome standards. Submissions must be emailed by 12:00 on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, to Acsarfq@airports.co.za.

This is a time-sensitive opportunity for certified suppliers of landscaping machinery and safety gear to support critical airport infrastructure.

Scope of Supply: Specialised Equipment for Airside Operations

The successful supplier will deliver:

  • 2x Commercial ride-on grass cutting mowers with zero-turn capability and integrated grass collectors
  • 4x Brush cutters (brushless BLDC motor, 49cm cutting width)
  • 4x Rechargeable trimmers with nylon line, harness, battery, and charger
  • 2x Fuel-powered handheld weedkiller sprayers (25L tank, 25.4cc engine)
  • Heavy-duty hand tools: rakes, platform brooms, spades
  • PPE kit: vibration- and cut-resistant gloves, green overalls, SABS-approved gumboots

All items must be new, unused, and compliant with SANS and ICAO Annex 14 standards for aerodrome maintenance.

Mandatory Submission Requirements

To be considered, quotations must include:

  • A completed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) with firm, VAT-inclusive pricing
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN
  • Proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit (Level 1–8 or EME/QSE)
  • Completed Standard Bidding Documents: SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim)
  • Technical specifications and warranty details for all equipment

Quotations must be submitted exclusively via email—no hard copies, faxes, or postal submissions will be accepted.

Evaluation Criteria: 80/20 Preferential Procurement System

Quotations will be scored using the 80/20 system:

  • 80 points: Price (lowest compliant quote = 80; others scored proportionally)
  • 20 points: Specific Goals, including Black, women, youth, disability, and military veteran ownership

Only complete, responsive, and compliant submissions will be evaluated.
