South Africa’s agricultural sector is once again taking a stand against one of the country’s most persistent animal health threats—Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). The 2025 FMD Indaba is set to take place on 21–22 July 2025 at ARC Roodeplaat, VIMP Campus, hosted by the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture.
This important event, themed “Building a Resilient System to Fight FMD,” aims to unite the country’s leading scientists, veterinary experts, policymakers, and industry leaders under one roof to strengthen South Africa’s long-term national response to FMD.
