This strategic twelve-month contract supports the critical infrastructure development of the Tzaneen Dam construction project in Limpopo, ensuring a reliable and efficient supply chain for this vital provincial initiative.

Scope of Services

The successful bidder will be responsible for managing the logistics and provisioning of essential construction resources on an as-and-when-required basis. Key operational deliverables include:

  • Sourcing, supplying, and delivering specified construction materials to the active Tzaneen Dam construction site.
  • Safe and efficient offloading of all materials at the designated delivery points within the site.
  • Adherence to strict quality, safety, and environmental standards mandated by the DBSA and the Department of Water and Sanitation.
  • Maintaining flexible inventory and delivery schedules to meet the dynamic demands of the construction timeline.

Compulsory Briefing Session

Attendance at the onsite tender briefing is strictly mandatory. Failure to attend and obtain the official attendance certificate will result in the immediate disqualification of the bid. The session is scheduled for Friday, 13 November 2026, at 11:00. It will be held at the Tzaneen Dam construction site (construction of the dam wall), accessible via Deer Park Road, Tzaneen. Approximate GPS coordinates are Latitude: 23°47’58.10″S. Bidders are advised to plan their travel accordingly and adhere to all site safety protocols.

Mandatory Compliance Requirements

To be considered responsive, bidders must submit a stringent compliance package demonstrating operational legitimacy. Essential documentation includes:

  • A current SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN.
  • A valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit.
  • Proof of valid registration with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), if applicable to the materials supplied.
  • A valid Letter of Good Standing issued in accordance with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA).

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will undergo a rigorous, multi-stage evaluation process in accordance with the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act. Bidders must first pass the administrative responsiveness check. Qualifying bids will then be assessed on technical functionality, evaluating the bidder’s capacity, logistics plan, and relevant experience. The final adjudication will utilize the applicable preference point system (80/20 or 90/10), balancing price competitiveness with specific transformation goals such as B-BBEE contribution and local enterprise development.
