Transnet Seeks Medical Equipment Supplier for Richards Bay

Transnet is a State-Owned Company responsible for operating South Africa’s major ports and rail network. The Port of Richards Bay is one of the largest ports in South Africa and requires reliable medical equipment to support the health and wellness of its employees.

Scope of Supply

The successful supplier will be required to supply and deliver:

  • Littmann Eko CORE 500 Digital Stethoscope
  • MS 3400 Digital Scale (300kg with Height Rod)
  • Edan M3A Vital Signs Monitor
  • TCS 250LP Scale
  • High-Density Mobile Filing Cabinet
  • Nevada L-Shaped desk with floating top
  • Reclining Ergonomic Office Chair
  • Rexel Fusion 3000L A3 Laminator
  • Avalon A4 Stainless Bottom-Load Water Cooler
  • Welch Allyn Connex ProBP 3400 Digital Blood Pressure Device
  • Samsung Refrigerators and Microwave
  • Medical Refrigerator

Mandatory Requirements for Bidders

Bidders must submit the following mandatory documents:

  • Completed SBD 1 form
  • Valid Tax Compliance Status PIN from SARS
  • Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration
  • Annexure B – Technical Evaluation
  • Section 4 – Quotation Form
  • Certificate of Acquaintance with RFQ Documents
  • RFQ Declaration and Breach of Law Form
  • Protection of Personal Information consent form

Technical Evaluation Criteria and Scoring

Bidders will be evaluated on technical criteria with a minimum qualifying score of 70 points. The criteria include:

  • ISO 13485:2016 Medical Devices Quality Management System certification
  • Three reference letters proving at least 5 years of experience supplying occupational health or medical equipment
  • Delivery turnaround time of two days from receipt of purchase order

Submission Guidelines

Transnet enforces strict digital submission protocols. Respondents must upload their bid response proposals exclusively via the Transnet e-Tender Submission Portal (transnetetenders.azurewebsites.net). Physical, emailed, or faxed submissions will not be accepted or considered under any circumstances.
