South African Airways (SAA) has issued Request for Quotation RFQ GSM056/2026 for the supply and delivery of beers and ciders for its inflight and lounge services over a one-year period. This targeted procurement seeks qualified beverage distributors to uphold SAA’s reputation for premium, world-class passenger experiences.
Scope of Works and Specifications
The successful supplier will provide beverages for passenger consumption onboard SAA flights and in airport lounges for a period of one year. The required products include:
- 410ml cans of Corona
- 410ml cans of Castle Lite
- 410ml cans of Stella Artois
- 500ml cans of Savanna Dry
Mandatory Requirements: Liquor License and Documentation
Bidders must possess a valid Liquor License registered to the bidding entity. A certified copy must be submitted with the proposal. Additionally, suppliers must complete and submit the following documentation:
- SAA Vendor Document (Annexure 1)
- SBD 4 Document – Bidder’s Disclosure (Annexure 2)
- General Conditions of Contract (Annexure 3)
Evaluation Criteria: Price and Specific Goals
The evaluation process consists of four stages:
- Step 1: Administrative Responsiveness – Verification of returnable documents
- Step 2: Substantive Responsiveness – Mandatory requirements, including a valid Liquor License
- Step 3: Price and Specific Goals – 80/20 preference point system applies, with 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals
- Step 4: Business Award – Post-tender negotiations before issuing a Letter of Award

All quotation responses must be emailed directly to Tenders@flysaa.com. Given the 2MB email size limit, bidders must either split large files or provide a secure, accessible downloadable link. SAA will not be held responsible for corrupt or inaccessible links.
