The Nkangala District Municipality has re-advertised an open tender for the appointment of a panel of professional caterers to render services across various municipalities within the district for a three-year period. This strategic procurement targets accredited catering enterprises to support high-profile municipal events and meetings on an as-and-when-required basis.

Scope of Works and Premises Inspection

The appointed panel will cater for a wide range of municipal meetings and events, including council meetings, mayoral committee sessions, workshops, and gala dinners. The scope is categorised as follows:

  • Category A: VIP catering (1-50 people)
  • Category B: Adhoc/regular meetings (1-50 people)
  • Category C: Medium functions (51-100 people)
  • Category D: Large functions (101-250 people)
  • Category E: Big events/Gala Dinners (251+ people)

Service providers must be able to deliver a variety of menus, including standard western lunches, African cuisine, finger lunches, pre-packed meals, and full breakfasts. Caterers must also accommodate dietary preferences including halaal, kosher, and vegetarian options, with valid certification where applicable. Preference will be given to locally based companies, or those entering a Joint Venture with a local caterer and subcontracting at least 25% of the contract.

Compulsory Briefing Session

Attendance at the pre-bid clarification meeting is strictly mandatory. Bidders who fail to attend and sign the register will be summarily disqualified from the evaluation process.

Submission Guidelines and Validity

Sealed bid documents must be deposited in the official tender box. Late, emailed, or faxed submissions will not be accepted. Bids must remain valid for 120 days from the closing date.
