The Eastern Cape Department of Public Works and Infrastructure has issued an open tender (SCMU5-26-27-0028 AMR INF) for the provision of professional civil and structural engineering services. This strategic contract targets qualified engineering firms to oversee the comprehensive repairs and renovations at the Government Garage in Westbank, KuGompo City.

Scope of Works and Infrastructure Repairs

The mandate requires the successful service provider to deliver expert civil and structural engineering oversight. This includes assessing the existing infrastructure, developing detailed renovation plans, and ensuring all structural repairs comply with stringent national building standards and the CIDB Professional Services Contract guidelines.

Eligibility and Mandatory Requirements

Bidders must meet specific eligibility criteria to be considered:

  • ECSA Registration: At least one company director must be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer, Technologist, Technician, or Certificated Engineer . A valid, certified professional registration certificate and a letter of good standing must be submitted.
  • Tax Compliance: Tax matters must be in order, and the bidder must be registered on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD).
  • Professional Indemnity: The preferred tenderer will be required to submit an approved insurer undertaking for Professional Indemnity within 21 days of appointment.
