The Limpopo Department of Education (LDoE) has issued an open tender (LDE/B10/2026/27) to appoint a panel of service providers for the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of specialized equipment. This strategic three-year contract targets qualified suppliers to support Schools of Skills across the Limpopo province.

Comprehensive Scope of Work

The appointed service provider(s) will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of vocational resources, including:

  • Supply & Delivery: Equipment will be ordered on an “as and when required” basis, delivered to the Provincial Office and identified schools .
  • Installation & Commissioning: Full setup and making equipment operational at various Schools of Skills .
  • Maintenance & Support: Ongoing technical support, maintenance services, and provision of user training where applicable.

Category Requirements and Specifications

The required equipment is categorized as follows:

  • Category 1: Welding & Metalwork Equipment (e.g., industrial box and pan brake, pedestal drill press, welding machines, table saws) .
  • Category 2: Hair & Beauty/Salon Equipment (e.g., hood dryers, shampoo basins, styling chairs, clippers) .
  • Category 3: Textile & General Consumer Skills Equipment (e.g., embroidery machines, overlockers, sewing machines, air conditioners, heavy-duty stoves).

Mandatory Phase 2 Requirements

Bidders must meet the following requirements to avoid disqualification:

  • Standards Compliance: Submit relevant certificates of compliance with SABS, SAHPRA, ISO, and other applicable South African standards for all equipment.
  • Proof of Authenticity: Attach valid certificates or confirmation letters from manufacturers, including their company registration numbers.
  • COIDA & Tax Compliance: Provide a valid COIDA letter of good standing, a valid SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN, and a valid CSD registration report.
  • Support & Documentation: Prove availability of technical support and maintenance, and include warranties, user manuals, and safety instructions with all equipment.

Mandatory Compliance and Evaluation

Proposals will undergo a rigorous functionality evaluation. Bidders must submit verifiable proof of past projects, with scoring heavily weighted towards the value of completed contracts (up to 50 points) and the submission of contactable reference letters on company letterheads (up to 20 points).

Specific Goals and Locality Preference

The LDoE utilizes a preference point system that strongly rewards local economic participation. A maximum of 30 points is allocated to enterprises with a physical address and proof of residence within the Limpopo province, verified by a municipal statement or formal lease agreement.

Submission Guidelines and Venue

Sealed bid documents must be hand-delivered to the designated provincial office. Late, faxed, or emailed submissions will not be considered under any circumstances.
